1. What Prismastra is
Prismastra is a news reader app for Android. It shows short original summaries of news articles published by other publishers, with attribution and a link to the full article.
2. Data we do NOT collect on a server
Prismastra has no user account server and no analytics server. Your news swipes, Prisma Streak, bookmarks and cached news are stored only on your phone (local storage). We do not receive, store or sell that data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
3. Google sign-in (optional)
Google sign-in is optional and is never required to read news. If you sign in, your name and email from Google are stored only on your phone to show in Profile. They are not sent to a Prismastra server. You can sign out in Profile at any time. Google's own privacy policy applies to Google's sign-in service.
4. Surveys
Survey cards in the Feed are always optional — you can scroll past them like any other card. Prismastra's own reader survey stores answers only on your phone. If third-party paid surveys are added later, this policy will be updated before they launch, naming the provider and the data it processes.
5. Notifications
With your permission, the app may show a local notification for exciting top news. Notifications are generated on your phone from the news feed. You can turn them off in Android Settings or in the app.
6. Advertising (future)
The current phone-test version shows no third-party ads. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated before it is used, including the advertising provider, the data it processes, and how to opt out of personalised ads.
7. Links to publishers
Tapping a source link opens the publisher's website or app. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which Prismastra does not control.
8. Children
Prismastra is a general news app and is not directed at children under 18. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Your rights under Indian law (DPDP Act, 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because Prismastra stores your app data only on your phone, you can erase it immediately in the app: Profile > Delete my local data. For any other request, contact the Grievance Officer below; we will respond within the timelines required by Indian law.
10. Grievance Officer (IT Rules, 2021)
Grievance Officer: Manat Kumar, Mhjn Inc. Email: errormahajan@gmail.com. Please include "Prismastra" in the subject line.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be posted here and in the app before the change takes effect.
